Here's what a few have to say:
"A Modern Day Joseph Conrad and Heart of Darkness... Awesome Book!
I purchased "Landfall" because I enjoyed the prequel "Three Star Fix" so much. In "Three Star Fix," Jablonski introduced us to Jake and taught us about growing up. "Landfall" teaches us about a much more difficult proposition that every man, if lucky enough, must one day face - growing old. Remnicent of Michner's "The Drifters," Jablonski carries Jake and the reader through locales across the world to illustrate why the third quarter of a man's life (40-60 yrs) can be so much more difficult than the other quarters. Like a seasoned history professor, the author allows us to witness the past and observe a populace doomed to repeat the lessons of their forefathers. Part mystery novel, part travelogue, part historical fiction, I would recommend this book to anyone anxious for adventure at sea."
"Great writing. Great storytelling.
Extremely well written and engaging tale. Draws you in quickly and completely. Tragic that this gifted author passed away too soon."
"WELL WORTH THE READ!
READ THIS BOOK! I was totally surprised with this little novel. I was looking for some quick reading in a different genre than what I've been reading for months. The fact that it was based in the Oregon Coast appealed to me. And that it was about (sort of) ships and sea...with a bit of mystery thrown in. Well, it was all that and more. Delving into the mind, heart and soul of the main character, Jablonski takes us on a dark journey from the jungles in Asia to the decks of a freighter. From the mind of a care free 19 year old to the mature, screwed up version of the same man. I was unable to put this book down. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!"
